Mega Maths

'Megamaths' is a popular BBC Schools Television series encouraging children to learn and practise all areas of mathematics. It is geared toward children aged 7 - 10 years old.

Mimics Productions designed and built a character that was used in this television series - a white poodle on wheels. It was created especially for the programme using the method of soft sculpture. The shape of the dog was made as a wire frame, then padded with polyester wadding and foam and wrapped in muslin bandages. Then the fur fabric was cut to size and sewn to fit the body. Two axles were inserted through the feet in the wire frame and the wheels fixed on.
